About Us

PlugO is India’s 1st smart and fully automated power bank rental platform. Our vision is to make hassle-free and affordable charging solution available to everyone. PlugO is easy to use, reliable, convenient and timesaving. With the network of internet-connected vending terminals, users can now pick up and drop the power bank anywhere while on the move. They can continue what they want without the fear of getting disconnected. Our aim is to bring down the Lithium footprint by removing the need for people to own power banks and replace it with a shared economy of power banks.
We are collaborating with Solar Parks in India who are into solar power generation. We will monitor the amount of power that is being used while renting power banks and in return to that we will pump an equivalent amount of solar power into the National grid. Thus, we are moving a step ahead towards green power.
PlugO has self-designed its power banks and safety and security is top priority to us.
  • Only the charging ports are enabled and there are no data lines in the power bank cables to avoid any misuse and ensure safety of your personal & valuable data. Beware about other public charging solutions in India.

Our power bank comes with the latest and high-speed charging technology
  • It can recharge all kinds of mobile, depending on its capacity. Charging might be a little slow in absence of data lines.

  • It also comes with a USB 2.0 port to connect external cable to it
  • Power bank specifications are printed at the back of each power bank
Each PlugO power bank is equipped with 5000 mAh Li-ion Polymer battery. It is sufficient to charge a Smartphone from 0 to 100% at-least once. However, newer mobile phones with better capacity are being rolled in market every-day, so charging depends on the capacity of the mobile phones as well. Power bank specifications are printed at the back of each power bank.

Rent At PlugO

Currently we are supporting only Indian phone numbers.
Follow the procedures below to rent a power bank:
  • Download the PlugO app and sign up
  • Use the in-app map to Locate and navigate to nearest PlugO store
  • Pay Activation fees & Subscribe to a plan
  • Scan the QR code on the dispenser box and collect the power bank
You can find the nearest store hosting PlugO on the app. Open PlugO app on your phone and it will show you all the nearest stores available with their status(offline/online) and also availability of power banks. Please ensure that you have granted permission to access location on the PlugO app so that it can help you locate the nearest dispenser. You can also search for a location/address to find the nearest stores to that particular address. You can use in-app navigation feature to navigate to the nearest store.
Please follow the below steps to reserve a power banks.
  • On the map provided on the app, select the nearest available PlugO Station
  • Click on it and then press the reserve button that appears next to ‘Number of power banks available’ option
  • You will get a confirmation on reserved power bank on your PlugO app
The reservation will be valid for a duration of 15 minutes only. This feature is more useful when the dispenser in the nearest location is left with limited power banks and you want to avoid not getting a power bank to rent after visiting the place
Yes, you can. Our smart and connected dispensers allow you to return power banks to any PlugO dispenser anywhere within the city or any other city as well, provided we are operational in that city.
At this moment we support only online rentals via app, we do not have support for offline rentals which you can use while your phone is off. Trick: If you remember the password of PlugO account, trying logging the same on a different mobile and rent the power bank. Note: Upon successful rent, do not forget to logout on the other mobile phone.
There are 3 cables inbuilt into the power bank – Type C, Micro USB, Lightening Cable
  • Connect the desired cable
  • Press the green Power button on the power bank to start charging
Please navigate to the nearest PlugO Box available on the map with some power banks left. You can tap on a store in map view on PlugO app to view the number of power banks available for rent. Try to make use of ‘Reserve’ feature in case the dispenser in other location is also having limited power banks. We are deploying PlugO at a very fast pace to avoid this problem from occurring again
The PlugO power bank comes pre-attached with Type C, Micro USB and iPhone Lightning cable. There is an additional USB 2.0 port to connect external cable to it. Hence, with these many options you can charge almost any device by connecting external cable if the existing ports put a limitation to your digital charging needs.
Press the green power button on top of the power bank. There are 4 LED indicators on the bottom side. Each of the LED represents 25% charge. For example, if 3 LED lights glow after the button is pressed, it means the power bank is 75% charged.
No, you cannot rent multiple power banks at a time but you can charge multiple devices at a time using the given three cables. If the power bank is discharged you can return it at any PlugO station and pick up another one.
Yes, you can connect multiple devices at a time and charge them all together, although it is not recommended. The PlugO power bank comes pre-attached with Type C, Micro USB and iPhone Lightning cable. There is an additional USB 2.0 port to connect external cable to it. Please note that power bank capacity is limited (max up to 5000mAh) and it can charge only up to its capacity and in case of multiple devices this will get distributed among your devices.
No, the customers cannot charge the power bank on their own. The charging port of PlugO power bank is disabled by default. We recommend you to return the power bank and rent a new fully charged power bank once the power bank is discharged.
Yes, you can. Our charges are as per rental duration so, we will recommend you to avoid if possible. The longer the duration, the higher will be the charges. If you are travelling to a city where PlugO is available you can return it there. We are currently operational in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Surat and Goa. Our rental duration limit is 35 days, beyond which you will be entitled to pay for lost power bank charges.

Returns At PlugO

Follow the below steps to return a power bank at PlugO station/store.
  • Open the PlugO app and locate the nearest PlugO dispenser
  • Navigate there and drop the power bank in any of the empty slots available in the box
  • Make sure the LEDs on PlugO Dispenser is on and stable.
  • Once successful, a notification will appear on the APP
  • You will hear a click and LEDs on power bank will turn on as an indication of successful return
Do not return the power bank into a PlugO Dispenser on which LEDs are turned off or blinking.    
To swap your power bank from an ongoing rental, check on the map for the nearest PlugO Station and drop the power bank into an empty slot on PlugO dispenser. Upon confirmation of closing the existing rental on the app, you can rent a fresh power bank. Kindly note that, our charges are for per rental session if you are a standard user but subscribed users can do unlimited swaps during their subscription period.
Please navigate to the nearest PlugO Box available on the map with some empty slots left. We are deploying PlugO at a very fast pace to avoid this problem from occurring again.
Definition of offline dispenser: Kindly check for the box status on the app, if the box shows green then it is an active box and if the box has turned grey on the app it means either the box is out of network or the power supply is discontinued which counts as an offline box. If the dispenser is powered you will see the green LED lights on and in case you don’t see any LED lights on the dispenser then kindly use the map provided on the app to navigate and locate the nearest PlugO dispenser and return the power bank as per your convenience. If the box is powered and if you find the LED lights are blinking/flickering on the dispenser, it means the box is lacking network connectivity. In such cases, you can still drop the power bank in the dispenser and it will get locked, however the session will end only when the dispenser gets reconnected to the network automatically. You will notice the timer running on the APP and you won’t get any notification saying the session has ended. However, you won’t be charged anything extra as the dispenser has the capability to record the timings of your return and you will be charged only for that time period.
We charge for rent based on duration, the longer you keep the power bank with you the higher will be the charges. Beyond 35 Days, we will raise the charges for lost power bank against your account and you need to clear the charges to continue using PlugO service
Please inform the customer care immediately. We will raise the charges for lost power bank against your account and you need to clear the charges to continue using PlugO service and to avoid legal action. If you are a subscribed user your subscription will be terminated and the difference amount needs to be paid. This is to notify you that the policy for lost/Unreturned power banks as signed by you during the registration on the app, stating that the user has to pay the necessary charges up-to Rs. 699 is clearly mentioned under Section 5- 5.1.i in our T & C. Fix a Problem?

Please check your network connection and retry. If still unable to receive the OTP, please contact our support team via email or phone.
Sometimes cache and network glitches caused unexpected behaviour on apps,  You can try the below steps if the PlugO app is not working.
  • Please close the app and restart it
  • If it still doesn’t work, please re-install the PlugO app and retry
If the problem persists, then please contact our support team via email or phone.
If the PlugO dispenser is not able to dispense a power bank, then
  • Open the app and go to support option on the menu
  • Select the issue type as PlugO dispenser Box from the dropdown list provided
  • Scan the QR code on the dispenser and submit
  • Navigate to the another nearest PlugO dispenser as given on the app and rent a power bank
  • Your active session will end automatically in 2-3 mins if the power bank is not ejected from the dispenser.
This might happen if the dispenser is not connected to network, please wait up-to 3 mins and the session will end automatically. There will be no charges in such cases. Please contact our support team via email or phone. if the rental does not end post 3 mins.
At PlugO, we always ensure that we eject the best available power bank to the user, however to ensure that there are no issues please check for physical damages and verify that power bank is working properly. In case you observe any issues please return it immediately and rent another power bank. Keep in mind that you won't be charged for the session if you drop the power bank within 10 minutes after your rental session starts. And make sure to report the issue on the app, our support team will investigate and ensure this is not happening again in future.
  • Open the app and go to support from the menu
  • Then select the issue type as Power Bank from the drop-down list provided
  • Scan the power bank QR code and click finish to submit report
  • Drop the power bank in the PlugO Box to rent a new one.
We never dispense a power bank that is less than 80% charged. However, if you find such power bank then report to us via the support option on the app. Drop the power bank in the dispenser and re-rent another one. There are 4 LED indicators on the bottom side. Each of the LED represents 25% charge. Press the green button on power bank to check the charge level.
PlugO power bank comes with all standard cables as per market. As of now we have support for Apple lightning cable for iPhones and Micro-USB & USB C for Android phones. If your device is not compatible with any of these, you can still use PlugO power Bank by connecting the desired cable in the USB A Port on the power bank.
Before returning the power bank, please ensure that box is on and connected (you can confirm it by looking at LED lights on PlugO dispenser, LEDs should be stable and not blinking). PlugO dispenser and power banks are smartly designed to allow insert only in one direction and it will insert smoothly, look for the sign (Insert this side) on power bank, please do not use force to insert and do not leave the power bank in the dispenser if not locked properly. If faced with any difficulty while returning the power bank, kindly navigate on the map to relocate the nearest PlugO dispenser to return the power bank and do report this issue using the support section on the app.
While returning the power bank into PlugO dispenser, please ensure that the power bank is properly locked. You will hear a locking sound from the dispenser after dropping it and the LED lights on the power bank starts blinking as an indication of charging. Also ensure that your rental session has ended and you have received a notification on the app. Please allow notifications on the PlugO app to end the rental session automatically. If not allowed you might have to manually refresh the session screen to verify that the rental has ended successfully. In case of any further issues reach out to our customer care.

Plans, Pricing and Refunds

The rental charges have been provided under the “Plans” option on the side menu
No, Charges are per rental basis. If you are a standard user you will be charged separately for each rental, but subscribed users can do unlimited swaps during their subscription period.
No, we do not accept cash payments via the PlugO app. However, you can get your wallet recharged through the store operator using his wallet top up method and pay cash to him directly.
Please follow the below steps to top up your wallet.
  • Select Wallet from the side menu on the app
  • Then select recharge and enter the desired amount
  • It will ask for payment methods, select the appropriate digital method, proceed with the bank details and confirm
  • Wallet will be topped up instantly
If your wallet has lesser funds than the services value that you have consumed, then
  • Your wallet balance will start to show negative
  • You will be prompted to pay the dues.
For example: Your wallet has 20 INR and you have used services worth 30 INR, then wallet balance will become -10 INR, and it will ask to clear the dues via SMS and email notifications
In case you feel any discrepancy in the rental charges, please report this issue at [email protected] with the transaction details and we will assist you on this.
Please note that you may not be able to withdraw money from your wallet under any circumstances. There are no refunds for any amount in your wallet balance once deposited. This is to notify that the policy for wallet balance as signed by you during the registration on the app, stating that the user cannot withdraw the wallet balance under any circumstances once the money is deposited is clearly mentioned under Section 7 7.3(3) in our T & C. Follow the steps below in order to initiate refund for the activation fees:
  • Click on the Menu Bar on the top left corner.
  • Click on wallet
  • Click on Refund security deposit and type the description
  • And click on Submit
It can take up to 24 hours to refund your security deposit from our end and it will take up to 5-7 business days to reflect in your source account. Please ensure about two things below before raising the ticket:
  • You should not have any active rentals
  • You should not have any negative balance in PlugO Wallet
Your refund request will not get processed if any of the above conditions are not met.
Once the subscription ends, there is no need for any formalities for the user to follow, like processing paperwork or to keep us informed about it. If you have rented any power bank during your subscription period all you have to do is, to ensure you return it before your subscription pack expires in order to avoid additional charges as the timer keeps running on the app. The plan will not renew itself automatically, you can go ahead and purchase a fresh subscription whenever needed in future.

Referrals and Discounts

You can find your referral code via clicking on gift box icon on Top right of home screen or alternatively you can use the below steps.
  • Click on Menu bar on the top left corner
  • Click on settings
  • Click on the referral code in green colour on the top
  • Click on invite
  • Share the referral code to your friends using the required option
Your friend will get additional 3 free rentals each 1-hour i.e. First 3 hours. What you get?
  • Standard Users : you will get 5 free rentals each 1-hour i.e. First 5 hours. Share your referral code and ask your friend to apply this code during the registration on PlugO app. You and your friend will receive the respective rewards on your friend's first transaction on the PlugO app.
  • Subscribed user : You will get 7 days added to your existing subscription.
The coupons will not be automatically applied. You have to apply the coupons manually before scanning the QR code on the dispenser box and then rent a power bank. Follow the steps below in order to apply coupons:
  • Click on rent a PlugO
  • On top of QR scanner you will find an option "Apply coupons"
  • Click on it and the coupon will appear on the screen
  • Apply the required coupon and scan the QR code in order to rent a power bank
If you forgot to apply coupon while renting, don't worry you can still apply coupon while your rental is on. Please follow the below steps.
  • Go to Active rental screen.
  • If the coupon not applied already, you will find an option "Apply coupons"
  • Click on it and select, insert the coupon code.
 
Follow the steps below in order to find discount coupons in your account:
  • Click on Menu bar on the top left corner

  • Click on coupon
  • All active coupons will be visible here

No, the power bank is not waterproof. Please try to avoid making direct contact of power bank with water, as it may short circuit the internal circuitry and can cause fire.
Keep the Power Bank away from heat sources, direct sunlight, humidity, water or other liquids. Also avoid contact with fire and sharp objects.
PlugO believes in the power of shared economy and is committed to sharing and rental of power banks. This is cost effective also and you need not to bother about the maintenance and charging of the power bank. This shared model makes our environment sustainable. We promote renting and sharing model.
